Fifty years ago: graduation and new beginnings from With Strings Attached

Fifty years ago last Friday I graduated with a Master's Degree in library science.  A real librarian!

But I didn't go to work as a librarian right away.

Fifty years ago yesterday (August 8, 1974) I began my new job as a Chapter Consultant for Alpha Gamma Delta.

Now called Leadership Consultants, LCs are recent  graduates who travel to the sorority's collegiate chapters to assist with recruitment (rush) and chapter management.

Weekly update: challenge completed! and something new from With Strings Attached

I realize I am jumping the gun with this, but I am so chuffed at my progress that I can't wait.  If you're reading this and you're in my quilt guild, don't look any further.  If you do, don't let on.

Midweek: voting, sunshine, and CW birds from With Strings Attached

I was among the many women who wore pearls yesterday to honor the life and legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsberg on Election Day.  I chose my mother-in-law's necklace and earrings because they're real (mine are imitation).  Screw-back earrings are tricky to put on!)

(I stitched the little sampler with the Rubaiyat quote.  My sister added hyacinth bulbs and it was our birthday gift to our mother in 1991. [Initials N and V, plus our mother's initials MHB.])

I also wore "sock the vote" socks. (They're from Zkano.  Not only are they American-made, they are also a ...
